You know that moment when you attempt to squeeze into your old jeans after having a baby? Or maybe your baby is 8 years old now and your old jeans are still hiding in the back of your closet. Are you discouraged by the thought that those jeans may never see the light of day? Have your workout stretchy pants and baggy t-shirts become your everyday clothes?
Moments like these can make us or break us. They can either throw us into a bad day or spur us to make a change. Maybe you’ve tried making changes in the past only to be set back when life happens, again. Do you ever feel like you don’t have enough willpower to stick with your goals day to day, let alone a whole year, in order to see results?
Maybe you’ve even wished someone could just wire your mouth shut for a few months? (This happened to me when I had jaw surgery. Trust me when I tell you that doesn’t work well for healthy weight loss!)
Maybe you’ve lost hope that eating delicious food and losing weight is even possible.
I’ve been there and felt like that. I was spilling out my Red Hot jeans that I was dying to fit into six months after my baby was born! Fast forward through six months and you can see the results of eating delicious “real” food and even some treats along the way. I’m still a work in progress, eating well, moving my body as it will allow (more on that in the future), and juggling the demands of being a full-time mom and a dietitian.
So the answer to the question I am so often asked is: YES!!! You can eat real food and have real results that last.
I’m Janae Bagley, Registered Dietitian, and 32-year-old mother to a 3-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter. I wasn’t able to get my body back between kids and started my second pregnancy already overweight. I thought that breastfeeding would make the pounds melt off but it didn’t.
I coped with my disappointment and frustration by eating my way through cartons of ice cream. I kept thinking I’d deal with it at some undefined future date. Sound familiar?
Before kids I was diagnosed with PCOS and high cholesterol. Add 2 kids and more weight and I felt like things were spiraling out of control.
I tried practically every diet under the sun and none of them helped me achieve lasting results.
I ended each one discouraged, feeling like a failure. I thought I didn’t have enough willpower to stick with a diet long enough to lose weight.
As I’ve worked over the years to help others and myself lose weight, I’ve learned a lot that I want to share with you. As a registered dietitian, I was taught that weight loss was just calories in, calories out, and to cut certain foods out of my diet. Through my experience, I’ve learned that it’s so much more than that. Losing weight involves your mind, body and food. I’ve built all these things into my weight loss and maintenance program called ReShape: Mind, Body, Food. My goal is to help women like you fast track through all the lessons I’ve learned on my own journey. This program is research-based nutrition with practical application.
Are you ready to jumpstart your weight loss and achieve results that will last? Are you done with dieting but still want to lose weight? Join my ReShape program today and get the results you’re capable of achieving!
How is this program different than other things I ‘ve tried?
Non-Diet Approach to Weight Loss: Maybe you’re like me and have been on and off diets before and haven't achieved the lasting results you want. Let me help you fast track through the lessons I’ve learned over the last 10 years. This is not a program to start and stop once you've reached your goal. These habits are sustainable and healthy for your body in every age and stage of your life.
Community and Accountability: According to the American Society of Training and Development, the probability of completing a goal if you: • hear an idea = 10% • decide when you will do it = 40% • plan how you will do it = 50% • commit to someone else you will do it = 65%• have a specific accountability appointment with the person you’ve committed to = 95%
Healthy Results: This is not a cookie cutter program nor does anyone have a cookie cutter body. Research shows that slow steady weight loss is more likely to be sustained than rapid weight loss. Your starting point is more than a number on the scale. It also involves your age, your current activity level, your weight loss history and your attitude and willingness to change. Setting goals is actually the easy part. The challenging part is taking the actions you know to take and sticking with them. The ReShape program will help you take those actions and create a new mindset. You will start succeeding once you shift your thinking from a scale-oriented goal to creating a new lifestyle of health and wellness. Your results will depend on your starting point, your goals and your efforts in between.
